Role Description

We are seeking a Planning Coordinator to join our growing Supply Chain team. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone eager to build a career in production planning and supply chain operations in a fast-moving food manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Vice President of Supply Chain, you will provide day-to-day support for production scheduling, inventory tracking, and cross-functional coordination between Sales, Production, and Shipping. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, organized individual who is comfortable working across teams and learning the fundamentals of how a manufacturing operation runs.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain weekly production schedules based on sales orders, demand forecasts, and plant capacity
• Update and distribute schedule changes in a timely manner, communicating clearly with production, operations, and sales teams to ensure timely execution
• Monitor material, work-in-process, and finished goods inventory levels to help minimize waste and meet plant targets
• Maintain accurate inventory records and flag discrepancies for resolution
• Coordinate with the sales team on special or unique orders and communicate any constraints or updates
• Collect and enter data accurately to support KPI tracking and reporting
• Help maintain planning tools and documentation to support continuous improvement
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of supply chain operations

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent work experience preferred
• 0–2 years of experience in a planning, operations, or supply chain role; internship or co-op experience welcome
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Comfortable working with data and maintaining records with a high degree of accuracy
• Clear and professional communicator, both written and verbal
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook; familiarity with other MS Office tools a plus
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt when things change quickly
• Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when needed
• Interest in manufacturing, food production, or supply chain operations is a plus

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• On-site role at our Chicago manufacturing facility
• Must be available to work varying shifts occasionally, including potential weekend or overtime coverage
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs
• Occasional exposure to cold production floor environments (approximately 40°F); freezer areas are 0°F or colder
• Ear protection required when on the production floor
• Approximately 10% travel

Compensation and Benefits Summary:

• Pay Range: $55,000 - $70,000 per year.

• Paid Time Off (PTO) plus 40hrs paid sick leave plus 8 paid holidays.
