Your Mission: Banza is looking for an accounting professional to join our growing, food-loving company. If you’re capable of managing multiple priorities in a rapidly growing and fluid organization, this is the perfect fit. We value analytical problem-solving, organization, and a desire to learn and grow. You will champion the advancement of policies, structure, procedures, and controls that will enhance the accounting/finance function at Banza.

What you’ll do:

• Support month end close process and financial statement preparation;
• Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and relevant supporting schedules;
• Manage reconciliations and analyses of complex accounting functions, which may include inventory, cost accounting and accruals;
• Assist with review and management of working capital, including support of cash flow projections and accounts receivable and accounts payable functions;
• Support the development, implementation and testing of controls and processes across the organization;
• Assist with preparation of year end audit, work closely with the audit team to provide accurate supporting schedules;
• Assist with ad hoc accounting projects as needed.

Who you are:

• Three or more years of work experience in an accounting role;
• Work experience with generally accepted accounting principles;
• Highly proficient in MS Excel;
• Able to work in a fast paced, high-growth and rapidly changing environment;
• Able to balance and prioritize multiple tasks while managing strict deadlines;
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills;
• Strong accuracy, attention to detail, investigative, and analytical skills;
• Able to think critically and recognize discrepancies and anomalies through analysis;
• Able to work independently, follow tasks through to completion and meet commitments, proactively seeking guidance as necessary.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

Our salary ranges are based on verified market data and our philosophy of paying competitively for our size and industry. In addition to base salary, full-time team members receive equity in the company, medical, dental, and vision insurance through United Healthcare, free Banza products, and monthly stipends for fitness, internet, and cell phones.

Individual pay rate decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors. The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $90,000. The range above is for the expectations as laid out in the job description, however, we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, and recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted. If that ends up being the case, the updated salary range will be communicated to you as a candidate.
