Summary: The Food Safety Quality Assurance Technician is responsible to ensure food safety and quality compliance by monitoring and documenting required checks including chemical levels, product specification, labels, good manufacturing practices (GMPs), temperatures, and operational procedures throughout the entire production process.

What You'll Do:

  • Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are consistently followed throughout the facility.
  • Perform routine plant inspections and process checks, including but not limited to pH, Brix, metal detector functionality, and finished product quality assessments.
  • Calibrate and maintain quality control instruments such as pH meters, scales, and thermometers.
  • Verify that products are manufactured according to established specifications and timelines, following all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist in documenting daily production information and quality-related information.
  • Provide quality support to the production team to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Safely conduct work and adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the QA Supervisor or management.
  • Understands and upholds B Corp principles which consider all stakeholder groups: community, customers, environment, governance and workers.

Who You Are:

  • Prior experience in the food manufacturing industry is required.
  • Basic bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills with strong oral and written abilities.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) preferred.
  • Understanding of Critical Control Points (CCPs) in food safety systems.
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Energetic, adaptable, and capable of working independently or collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Ability to be reliable, personable, and productive within a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • In accordance with Minnesota's Pay Transparency Law (effective January 1, 2025), the salary range for this position is $30 - $35/hr.

Manufacturing - Employee is occasionally exposed to risk of wet work conditions. Employee is exposed to cold temperatures. The employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. Employee is regularly exposed to chemicals during sanitation processes. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally at a high level. The employee is not routinely exposed to weather conditions.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – Personal protective equipment is required depending on the job being performed, including protective eyewear, or face shields, hearing protection, hair and beard nets, uniforms and footwear. Additional equipment is required when working with chemicals, such as rubber gloves and use of chemical proof aprons as appropriate for the job being performed.
