The position will report to the Copy Director in the Creative department.
Role Overview
This role will own copy for a Sol de Janeiro beauty category, developing consistent product storytelling from product description to packaging. This individual is highly skilled in conceptualizing beauty narratives and translating benefit claims into meaningful, resonant consumer-facing copy.
The Senior Copywriter, Product must have launch-phase creative experience in beauty and/or consumer packaged goods. This individual is a skilled editor with experience in branding, messaging hierarchies, and product copy.
Overall Responsibilities:
$110,000—$125,000 USD
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with the possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.

Overall Responsibilities:
- Own and develop 360 product story and copy for evolving beauty category and adjacent assortments
- Creatively convert perception and claims testing into meaningful copy; deliver nuanced language across packaging, romance, and digital
- Familiar with navigating regulated claims and copy in context of conceptualization, narrative development, and product descriptions
- Partner with Global Product Marketing to understand needs and business point of view; advance and maintain category tone and brand codes
- Enforce consistency and construct, with an ability to write and adapt across variety of mediums including but not limited to product packaging, description page imagery, Instagram Story ads, and YouTube videos
- Collaborate with Design to establish an intentional balance of art and copy that addresses briefs
- Proof artwork releases with great attention to accuracy and detail
- Track trends and patterns in Copy within beauty, self-care, and cultural conversation
- Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Merchandising or similiar
- 6+ years copywriting experience at a beauty brand, with a focus on copy and concept development
- Proactive writer, problem solver, detail-oriented
- Excellent grammar and communication skills
- Comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
- Bonus experience: international markets, marketing patterning, product naming
- All candidates must submit a portfolio and be willing to complete a Copy Test.
- Must be comfortable working a hybrid schedule (remote & in our New York City office, when needed).
