Sol De Janeiro is looking for an experienced Sales and Training Freelance Manager to join the sales team. As the Field Sales and Training Freelance Manager, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating our freelance team, ensuring they deliver high-quality sales and training support to our retail partners. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to design and implement training programs, oversee the freelance recruitment process, and ensure our field teams receive the necessary resources to excel in their roles. Strategic in-store programs, events, and education.

The position will report to the Director of Field Sales and Training.


Freelance Team Management:

  • Identify key focus doors/territories that will receive freelance support based on door volume.
  • Recruit, onboard, and manage a team of freelance trainers and sales support professionals.
  • Ensure freelancers are aligned with the company's goals and values.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations to freelancers.
  • Monitor and optimize the freelance team's performance and efficiency.

Training Program Development:

  • Collaborate with internal teams to design and develop training programs for field staff.
  • Create training materials, resources, and schedules.
  • Implement innovative training methods to enhance the skills and knowledge of the freelance field teams.

Training Delivery:

  • Lead training sessions, both in-person and virtually.
  • Ensure field staff receive ongoing product and sales training.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary improvements.

Budget Management:

  • Manage the budget for freelance support and training programs.
  • Ensure cost-effective use of resources while maintaining high-quality standards.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Foster effective communication and collaboration between the freelance team and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates to management on training and sales performance.

Events and Schedules:

  • Schedule to be completed 1-2 months in advance.
  • Maintain a track record of all event execution.
  • Partner with Associate Director of Events & Education to plan and execute In-store events which will include single branded events, multi-branded events, and retailer events.


  • Bachelor's degree desirable but not required. Some college or equivalent (such as Esthetician license) is required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in skincare/hair and body field sales or Account Executive roles, with experience in product training and sales, and freelance management.
  • Should be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Must have experience working with beauty retailers.
  • Have a valid driver's license and be able to easily commute within territory and willing to travel out of the area for events or meetings.
  • Should have an energetic, positive and service-oriented personality and be skilled at relationship-building.
  • Should be passionate about skincare, body and hair products, and implementing brand education and training initiatives.
  • Must be focused, show excellent attention to detail and demonstrate an entrepreneurial approach to their work.


  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to stand for up to 8 hours a day, with breaks.
  • Spends at least 40% of time in the field/in-store.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • Must be able to work through weekends when business requires.

Salary Range

$90,000—$110,000 USD

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with the possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
