We are looking for someone who loves operations, gets excited about problem solving with various cross functional teams, and is passionate about building relationships.

The position will report to the Executive Director of Supply Chain and they will partner with various stakeholders to support our Domestic and International Contract Manufacturers, assessing, monitoring and working to provide deeper knowledge of potential risks to our business.

This role is responsible for assessing, analyzing, and mitigating risks associated with the procurement and utilization of raw materials and components used by Sol de Janeiro's Contract Manufacturers and other partners. Maintain up to date records of raw materials used in our products along with their source. Assist the Research and Development Teams in early understanding and due diligence on possible material risks prior to formula completion. This position plays a crucial role in protecting the organization's supply of raw materials and components for production that are outside of our direct control. Finally, this role will work closely with Procurement as well as the Production Planning teams to further deepen and develop our relationship management with said Contract Manufacturers.

The ideal candidate will be able to work from / visit our NYC Office 2-3 times per month.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Risk Assessment: Identify and evaluate potential risks associated with raw material and component sourcing, supply chain disruptions, market volatility, quality variations, and geopolitical factors.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize data and analytics to monitor and forecast raw material and component prices, availability, and quality trends. Assess how these factors could impact the organization.
  • Risk Mitigation: Develop and implement strategies to mitigate raw material and component risks, which may include diversifying suppliers, hedging strategies, and establishing contingency plans.
  • Supplier Relations: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure that suppliers meet the organization's risk management requirements.
  • Compliance: Stay informed about regulations and compliance standards related to raw material and component sourcing and quality. Ensure the Contract Manufactures are adhering to those requirements.
  • Cost Management: Optimize costs related to raw materials and components by making informed decisions based on risk assessments and market conditions.
  • Communication: Keep key stakeholders informed about raw material and component risk factors, mitigation strategies, and their potential impact on the company's operations and financial performance.
  • Reporting: Generate regular reports on raw material and component risk management activities and present findings to senior management.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance the organization's raw material and component risk management capabilities.
  • Crisis Management: Develop and execute plans for handling unexpected raw material and component supply disruptions or quality issues.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement or related fields.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in either Procurement or Supply Chain fields related to Raw Materials.
  • Advanced Excel skills required.
  • Attention to detail – must analyze many pieces of data and global constraints in order to understand, digest and asses risk.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to operate effectively and efficiently on an independent level.
  • A strong business sense and experience operating in small to medium-sized business environment.
  • NetSuite experience is preferred.
  • Beauty Industry experience is preferred.
  • Must be able to work from / visit our NYC Office 2-3 times per month.

Full - Time

Salary Range

$115,000—$130,000 USD

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with the possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
