This role will lead Product Engineering to support the hypergrowth and rapid global expansion of the brand. The position will report to the VP of Product/ESG/Regulatory

Overall Responsibilities:

Product Engineering Program Management

  • Responsible for development, implementation, and maintenance of the company's Product Engineering department and strategy.
  • Acts as primary interface for and provides guidance to various departments relative to Product Engineering.
  • Builds and maintains strong working relationships with external partners, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
  • Facilitates and collaborates with internal teams, including Packaging Development, Regulatory Affairs, Project Management, Product Marketing, Design, and Supply Chain, to ensure seamless coordination of commercialization.
  • Responsible for managing assigned budgets.

Product Engineering Team Management

  • Manages the Product Development team to achieve annual and long-term goals and objectives.
  • Oversees direct reports and establishes work plans, development plans, and goals.
  • Performs quarterly and annual reviews.
  • Shows commitment to growth and development as a leader.

Product Engineering

  • Using a blend of technical expertise and operational insight and in partnership with cross-functional teams, directs all technical activities required for commercialization including scale up, tech transfer, continuous improvement, etc., focusing on efficiency, accuracy, quality, and cost optimization.
  • Defines and manages the information systems, databases, records, and system integrations to support Product Engineering efforts.
  • Effectively directs multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring milestones are met and commercialization occurs on time with excellence.
  • Collaborates with Product Development and Operations to identify and vet new partners.
  • Supports Quality Control and Assurance with technical expertise and insight; leads technical aspects of troubleshooting and root cause analysis efforts.
  • Integrates sustainable practices in meaningful, measurable ways.
  • Maintains and expands knowledge base, remaining up to date on advancements and innovation in manufacturing practices, regulations, and industry trends to maintain competitive advantage.
  • Other duties as assigned, according to the changing needs of the business.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:



  • 10+ years' experience in technical engineering, particularly in beauty or consumer goods, including leadership roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant scientific discipline required. Advanced degree is preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead scale-up, pilot trials, and manufacturing readiness within the beauty industry.
  • Ability to clearly communicate information to technical and non-technical teams; capable of engaging cross-functional teams and external partners effectively.
  • Demonstrated organizational agility - effective in working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven ability to deliver results on time and with excellence.
  • Excellent leadership skills, fostering collaboration, creativity, and professional growth.
  • Experience leading and developing a growing team comprised of various levels of contributor.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Travel required
  • Must be able to come into the New York office at least 1x per week

Salary Range

$130,000—$150,000 USD

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with the possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
