Senior Creative Manager, Visual Merchandising & 2D design

Role Overview

The position will be based in our Paris office and report to the Regional Design Director, International.

This role will support the International Visual Merchandising team working across EU, UKI, DACH, Middle East and APAC regions in the development and execution of all 2D brand visual merchandising graphics and design elements across all physical and brick & mortar touchpoints (examples include but not limited to multi-branded open-sell retailers, pop-ups, event podiums, OOH brand activations, etc.) while ensuring compliance with global guidelines and brand standards.

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the beauty retail landscape, lifestyle and behavioral trends and has proven experience aligning creative direction with impactful in-store visuals. They must have a keen understanding of the importance of visuals storytelling and messaging hierarchies to successfully translate marketing directives into meaningful and on-brand consumer experiences.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Adapt global concepts, directives and brand assets to design and execute 2D print graphics and visual communication for International Visual Merchandising across multiple retailers while adhering to brand design standards and guidelines
  • Create impactful layouts for in-store visuals, brand messaging and product communication aligned to International regions’ marketing and business objectives
  • Collaborate closely with International Visual Merchandising team to design and execute 2D visual merchandising assets, brand messaging and product communication across variety of in-store merchandising fixtures (examples include but not limited to gondolas, back walls, custom branded shelf inserts, etc.)
  • Partner with International Visual Merchandising team to develop and execute 2D graphics assets and print collateral in 3D retail environments such as display windows, temporary animated spaces, pop-ups, outposts and podiums to maximize product visibility and consumer experience
  • Partner closely with Regional Brand Managers and Copywriters on consumer-facing messaging and copy including translations based on local market needs
  • Manage external design agencies and print production vendors to ensure highest quality of execution of all 2D in-store visuals and print collateral
  • Communicate and manage all timelines related to the development and execution of all 2D brand assets and final artwork to relevant stakeholders on the Global Creative and International Visual Merchandising teams
  • Effectively communicate any Regional specific brand and creative assets requirements to Global Creative Team counterparts in order to maintain local relevancy across all International markets
  • Maintain highest quality of visual standards and execution while adhering to strict timelines and budgets

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or Visual Design field; beauty experience required
  • Minimum 7-8 years experience working in a comparable role
  • Conceptually and strategically driven with exceptional skills in Art Direction from graphic adaptations to ground up concept development
  • Highly proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud with expertise in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
  • Expertise in branding and graphic design & storytelling within 3D retail environments
  • Technical expertise in graphic design and print production techniques concerned with resolutions, color and size accuracies, production values.
  • Understanding of VM technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong communication skills with ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely – ability to provide and receive constructive feedback that is necessary to improve designs
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be highly collaborative with ability to understand the objectives of all cross-functional partners to the International business needs and objectives as well as upholds the creative integrity of the brand
