This role is designed for a visionary leader who can navigate the complexities of global brand communications with a mix of strategic foresight, creativity, and operational excellence. The Vice President, Global Public Relations & Brand Communications will not only tell Sol de Janeiro's story to the world but also shape how that story evolves in the years to come, driving brand affinity and business success on a global scale.

You will be a pivotal figure in shaping and narrating Sol de Janeiro's brand story across the globe. Your leadership will bridge the worlds of public relations, brand communications, and evergreen brand content,

fostering a cohesive and compelling brand presence that resonates with our diverse audiences.

The position will report to the CMO.


  • Develop and lead a global communications strategy that strengthens the brand's presence and reputation through compelling narratives and strategic partnerships with editors and industry organizations.
  • Manage and nurture relationships with media editors, publishers, and representatives from relevant interest groups to enhance brand visibility and foster long-term affiliations.
  • Oversee the agency of record and advise on regional agency partnerships, ensuring alignment with global communication goals and consistency across all markets.
  • Lead crisis communications efforts, developing strategies and protocols to manage and mitigate potential reputational risks swiftly and effectively, cascading as needed.
  • Oversee the team of publicists and communications professionals, ensuring they are highly skilled and effectively positioning the brand at the center of relevant cultural and industry conversations.
  • Lead the development and execution of all PR activities, excluding influencer engagements, focusing on high-impact media pitches and partnerships with key cultural and lifestyle outlets.
  • Serve as the press-facing representative of the company, embodying and promoting the brand's values with professionalism and integrity.
  • Ensure all content is innovative, reflects brand values, and aligns with current market trends and organizational goals.
  • Establish and oversee key performance indicators for all PR and communications efforts, providing regular reports to executive leadership on the impact and effectiveness of strategies.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration within the company to ensure a unified and impactful brand presence across all communications and marketing initiatives.
  • Actively monitor the competitive landscape and industry trends to inform and adapt PR strategies accordingly.
  • Champion sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives by partnering with the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) team to integrate these practices into the brand's global communications strategy, ensuring alignment with the company's mission and values.
  • While overseeing global communications frameworks and strategies, ensure that team members within North America effectively execute region-specific initiatives, aligning with broader global objectives to maintain consistency and maximize impact across all markets.


  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior leadership role within PR or brand communications, ideally in the beauty, wellness, or consumer goods sectors.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with media, publishers, and industry-specific organizations.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership qualities with experience managing and inspiring a global team.
  • Strategic thinker with an innovative mindset, capable of identifying and capitalizing on emerging industry trends.
  • Willingness to be based at the company headquarters in NYC (hybrid) and flexible for international travel to meet with media and participate in global events.

Salary Range

$180,000—$200,000 USD

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with the possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
