JOB TITLE: Director, E-Commerce + Digital Marketing

REPORTS TO: Vice President, E-Commerce + Digital Marketing

OVERVIEW

The Director of E-Commerce + Digital Marketing plays a key role in Summer Fridays’ DTC strategy. They have a deep understanding and comprehensive experience across all marketing channels that support E-comm growth and retention. They manage an internal team and external agencies, with the goal of optimizing all digital channels and paid performance marketing initiatives. They are equal parts creative and analytical, with an ability to curate content that appeals to beauty consumers as well as applying a combination of measurement methodologies to gauge performance and effectiveness.

This position is strategic and results driven, has beauty/fashion startup experience, and a proven track record for meeting and exceeding E-Commerce KPIs. They also are detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple projects and timelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop online marketing, advertising and promotional calendar; working collaboratively with cross-functional teams on execution
  • Partner with marketing and internal design teams to create a holistic strategy and high-quality experience across all Summer Fridays digital touchpoints
  • Curate effective, on-brand digital marketing assets and oversee the process of bringing that content to life via applicable digital channels
  • Manage all digital content with a mobile-first approach; copywrite and provide creative briefs and direction to design team and external agencies
  • Oversee the development, creation, execution, and measurement of all SEM, SEO, affiliate, and paid media programs to drive awareness, engagement and conversion
  • Management of external agencies/vendors across all performance channels
  • Provide third-party Amazon partner with product updates and key trends to guide sales and advertising strategy
  • Apply a logically driven approach to management and decision-making, with strong proficiency in web analytics, performance marketing analytics, customer segmentation, personalization, and testing/optimization techniques
  • Monitor and report on KPIs, consumer behavior, and online trends; provide benchmarks and competitive analysis
  • Increase user database via creative strategies, such as sweepstakes and collaborations
  • Support the road map and strategy for DTC market expansion
  • Assist with budget and forecast management
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Other assignments/tasks as assigned and necessary

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 7-years experience in digital marketing; specifically, E-Commerce and digital performance marketing
  • BA/BS in Marketing, Business Admin, Computer Science or equivalent
  • Deep understanding of the beauty consumer; passion for skincare is a plus!
  • Proven track record driving and executing successful digital campaigns
  • Experience managing budgets and forecasts
  • Ability to analyze data and draw conclusions/insights from it
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  • Eager, can-do, positive attitude
  • Self-starter—able to execute upon multiple projects and against tight deadlines
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Collaborative, open-minded and able to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Proficiency in Google Docs, Excel, Word and Keynote/Powerpoint
  • Familiarity with digital platforms such as Shopify Plus, Klaviyo, Attentive, Meta Ads Manager, Google Analytics, Microsoft Ads, YouTube, TikTok, Yotpo, Rakuten/affiliate programs, Amazon and CRO tools
  • Light HTML experience/understanding
