JOB TITLE: Supply Planning Manager

REPORTS TO: Director Purchasing and Supply Planning

DEPARTMENT: Operations

OVERVIEW

The Supply Planning Manager is responsible for planning, monitoring, and scheduling supply chain activities and resources required for existing and planned products and services. This role optimizes capacity and inventory levels with demand, both aggregate and detailed, to support targets consistent with customer service levels, lead times, inventory targets, and capacity utilization/staffing requirements. Responsible for end-to-end planning, this role will include analytical aspects of Inventory Management, Supply Planning, Capacity Planning, Production and Procurement Planning.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generate and maintain accuracy of all purchase order and subcontracting order data
  • Utilize MRP and and MPS tools to review supply and demand plans, and propose supply plan updates
  • Participate and manage open order reviews with contract manufacturing partners and product suppliers to ensure production schedules align with business needs and are supported by upstream material deliveries
  • Ensure ERP master data maintenance and drive system continuous improvement, including SKU, units of measure, MOQ, EOQ, lead times and forecast and supply planning parameters for all items
  • Implement and maintain inventory and material management strategies for all items via ABC analysis
  • Review out of stock situations or shortage of supply issues and recommend mitigations in a weekly review cycle
  • Use exception reports to identify and resolve potential out of stock issues
  • Identify and manage potential inventory excess or inventory obsolescence to minimize waste and write-offs
  • Conduct root cause analysis for supply chain issues/variances and lead corrective action plans to avoid recurrence
  • Work closely with warehouse managers to provide advance shipping notice and up to date open order details to ensure inbound scheduling accuracy
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, customer service, marketing, logistics, and quality assurance to optimize supply chain process
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned/necessary

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of experience in an inventory planning/inventory management role, beauty experience is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations/Supply Chain or related field required
  • Familiarity with ERP Systems, and MRP and ERP planning concepts
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience with data manipulation including graphs, pivots, vlookups, etc are required
  • Experience managing contract manufacturers, packaging suppliers, co-packing partners
  • Ability to multi-task, welcome challenges, present solutions and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to be a team player and consider various viewpoints and opinions from all internal partners
  • Certifications such as APICS, CPIM, CSCP, or others relevant to supply chain management preferred
  • Proficiency with MS C-Suite programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Preferably based in Greater Los Angeles
  • Summer Fridays has a hybrid work schedule: 2 days in office, 3 days work from home per week
