OVERVIEW

The Director of Amazon Sales + Marketing plays a critical role in the overall presence and performance of the Amazon channel. They are not only passionate about e-commerce but also have a deep understanding and comprehensive experience selling on Amazon. They will be responsible for setting the Amazon retail sales and media strategy, and will also be responsible for executing it in partnership with external agencies and internal teams, including Marketing, Supply Chain/Operations, Sales, and Finance.

The person stepping into this role should have an understanding of both the Amazon shopper and the prestige beauty consumer. They are also highly analytical with a proven track record of driving revenue and sales growth and exceeding KPI’s on Amazon. This position is strategic and results-driven, and requires a highly organized, detail-oriented individual capable of managing multiple projects and timelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic planning: develop and implement sales and marketing strategies tailored to Amazon’s platform, including, but not limited to forecasting, assortment planning, merchandising, promotions, and marketing (pay-per-click, SEO, and affiliate marketing).
  • Oversee external agency partner to ensure alignment with brand objectives and execution of marketing strategies while managing performance and deliverables.
  • Work with agency partner to ideate, review, and implement marketing tactics, including, but not limited to SEO, pay-per-click, and affiliate marketing strategies to expand reach and drive sales on Amazon.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively; identify and mitigate risks to project delivery.
  • Implement strategic initiatives, conduct competitive analyses, identify risk and reward opportunities, report on key metrics, and provide actionable insights.
  • Track live assets across Amazon and implement refreshes to avoid customer fatigue.
  • Assist in marketplace brand protection, track unauthorized resellers, and report to the brand protection agency as appropriate.
  • Cross-collaborate with Brand Marketing, Influencer, Social and Creative teams to optimize content and align marketing efforts with overall business goals.
  • Analyze trends and shopper insights to drive revenue growth on Amazon, leveraging campaigns, exclusivity, performance marketing, and seamless execution of product launches. Coordinate efficiently with internal and external partners to drive strong results.

  • Collaborate with the supply chain team to drive successful forecasts, inventory plans, and shipping processes.
  • Prepare regular reports on KPIs, consumer behavior, and online trends. Provide benchmarks and competitive analyses along with recommendations.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in E-Commerce and/or Retail Media
  • Proven track record driving and executing businesses on Amazon
  • BA/BS in Marketing, Business Admin, Computer Science, or equivalent
  • Understanding of and passion for the beauty industry
  • Experience managing budgets and forecasts
  • Ability to analyze data and draw conclusions/insights from it
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Eager, can-do, positive attitude
  • Self-starter—able to execute upon multiple projects and against tight deadlines
  • Collaborative, open-minded, and able to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 360 programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with digital platforms such as Amazon Seller Central, Amazon Advertising, and other Amazon-specific tools
